U.S. EMBASSY PARTNERS WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The US Embassy in Mongolia Thursday reported it is working with the Ministry of Education and Science and local schools to help raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation issues. Together with the Fresh Water Institute, a local NGO partner, the Embassy organized a class on water conservation for students at Ulaanbaatar’s School Number 37 in September. During the class, groups of students brainstormed potential solutions to Ulaanbaatar’s challenges in preventing pollution of the city’s water supply and the group with the best idea was invited to visit the Embassy. On Thursday, the students made their visit, met with Ambassador Campbell, and learned from the Embassy’s “Green Team” about ways that everyone can do their part to protect Mongolia’s environment. The students actively participated in the discussions, asking insightful questions about water and air pollution, and even suggested that more could be done to educate children about how to take care of the Environment.
