WHO Director General Praises Iranˈs Successful Model In Medical Services

Tehran, May 21, IRNA – Director General of World Health Organization ( WHO) praised Iranˈs progress in medical services and called emerging medical education in medical services as a successful plan. According to the report of Health Ministry website, Iranˈs Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Hassan Qazi-zadeh Hashemi met with WHO Director General Margaret Chan here in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday. In the meeting, Chan said that currently many countries are facing with lack of man power in sanitary services as well as lack of coordination between medical education with people health needs but Iranian pattern in emerging education with services can be certainly a solution in this concern. Health minister said sanitary treatment networks in Iran will be completed until the end of the year ( Iranian calendar) and execution of sanitary primary care through these networks have caused promotion of people health in the country. Hashemi invited WHO director general to attend the ceremony for completion of sanitary treatment networks in Iran, which will take place in a few months, and it was accepted by her. Chan said she is interested to see closely progress in Iranˈs medical services as well as visiting Isfahan and Shiraz cities. Meeting of Health Ministers of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries kicked off in Geneva on Tuesday. The meeting is on the sidelines of WHO annual meeting and Iran, as chairman of the NAM, is chairing the Health Ministers meeting, too. In the meeting, 120 health ministers from member states will deliver short speeches./end
