14 cases of А/H1N1 flu in Kazakhstan

Astana, July 30, 2009 (Khabar) - Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, Minister for Healthcare has said this. Eight people are already are already out of quarantine and the other will recover before the end of this week. State of health of all ill persons is good, stressed the minister.


Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, Minister for Healthcare of RK:
- In Astana pratique will be released on the third of August if there are no any cases and masks could be put off. Yesterday one case was registered in Almaty and quarantine regime will function there for 7 days.

The minister has also told about reasons of infecting of medical med with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in Turkestan of South Kazakhstani region. At the beginning of July, a 23 year-old Shakhida Ismailova and her newly born baby died in Turkestan, two surgeons and neonathatologist doctor died after that. They operated and observed woman and baby. It turned out woman was infected with fever from tick’s sting, baby was infected through breast milk, and doctors were infected because of torn gloves, they had a contact with blood of infected woman. But the minister noted that doctor’s mistake is not excluded in this case. 17 people fell ill with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever since April till July and 6 people died. 316 people contacted with ill persons. 89 settlements that are potentially subjected to the disease, were disinfected and the minister added that bringing in of immune plasma is considered to be effective way of treatment.
