Stockholm, July 20, AZERTAC Organizing the first European Games, Azerbaijan has made an important present to the world, said silver medalist of the inaugural European Games, Swedish boxer, world champion Anna Laurell Nash, who interviewed by AZERTAC. The Swedish boxer said she was deeply impressed by sport infrastructure and the work of organizers: “A system of transport, competition table, work of volunteers, everything was organized in order to meet calmness of athletes and audience. The European Games looked like a large-scale Olympic Games. With such beginning the future of the European games is bright.” The boxer also hailed the Athletes Village, saying “we had opportunity to meet representatives of other countries, play with them games or watch TV. That was useful before the competitions.” Anna Laurell Nash also noted the beauty of Baku: “Baku is very beautiful city. Bakuvians are very kind people, and did a lot for us .” About competitions, Anna Laurell Nash said: “My opponents were strong. I did my best, and won silver.” The Swedish boxer stressed the closing ceremony of the Games admired her. “Unfortunately, I couldn`t attend the opening ceremony. The closing ceremony was wonderful. I had a glorious mission, like to carry a flag of Swedish team. That was unforgettable impression.”
