10th Round of 2nd Edition of Qatar Equestrian Championship Kicks off Friday

Doha, March 28 (QNA) - The 10th round of the second edition of Qatar Equestrian Championship (Hathab), which is being held in partnership with Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, is to be held on Friday. The tournament includes 12 rounds, the last of which will be held in April, with a prize of QR 2.3 Million. Today the examination of horses was executed and the competition will start tomorrow with two rounds. The first round will be played at a height of 100-115 cm, while the second is in the intermediate for individual and teams at 120-130 cm. The championship is held under the guidance of HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani to raise awareness of equestrian sports, with the participation of a large number of Qatari riders. Compagnies and horse owners will support the teams in an effort to develop the talents of the next generation of Qatar's champions to compete in international tournaments. The championship is also an important event to engage the community by encouraging local entrepreneurship. This year's championship will witness for the first time the participation of teams and aim to raise the level of competitions and enable young knights to benefit from experienced ones, and each team consists of three knights.
