2017 SEA Games opens in KL

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (TNA) - The Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games will be officially opened this evening in Malaysia. Sportsmen from 11 countries will march in to the newly-renovated Bukit Jalil National Stadium with a total capacity of about 87,000 spectators, considered the highest capacity among other stadiums in ASEAN member countries. Thai sportsmen are scheduled to march into the stadium, as the eighth out of 11 participating nations. They will be led by 36-year-old Pornchai Kaokaew who captured a total of 11 gold medals from Sepak Takraw from his participation in the past eight SEA Games events. Thailand team has already grabbed three gold medals, three silvers and a bronze from the ongoing SEA Games and ranked third after Malaysia and Singapore. (TNA)
