2022 FIFA World Cup 'Will Leave Positive Legacy'

Doha, May 21 (QNA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov lauded Qatar's preparations to host FIFA World Cup in 2022 and said social welfare plans post tournament 'will leave a positive legacy'. The prime minister made his comments after visiting the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) this week along with seven Ministers from the Bulgarian government During his visit Borissov met with SC Secretary General Hassan Al Thawadi. Seven ministers from the Bulgarian government accompanied the prime minister. SC officials presented an overview of the preparations for World Cup in Qatar. "I am very impressed by a very well-prepared and ambitious team that is working on the preparations," Prime Minister Borissov said. "What we were presented were all the preparations for the major infrastructure projects and stadiums, but also for social welfare projects and policy, in order to leave a legacy after the tournament." The prime minister said he is looking forward to the tournament in Qatar, and highlighted the potential of Bulgarian expertise to help in the building effort. (QNA)
