22 International Boxers In Action At 2018 AFC

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 22 international muay thai boxers including five from Malaysia will be in action at the 2018 Asia Fighting Championship (AFC) at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur Sports City in Bukit Jalil starting at 7pm Friday. The line-up of fighters were introduced in a face-off session at KL Gateway Mall here Thursday. The second edition of AFC will see 11 fights including two main fights involving 29th SEA Games gold medalist, Mohd Ali Yaakub. Mohd Ali is carrying the country challenge against South Korea’s Deok Jae Yoon in the 57kg class encounter. "I will try my best to win for the country in my home ground and the 2018 AFC championship as well,” he said when met by reporters after the faceoff. Apart from that, the other hot fights are between national boxer Mohd Amirul Ariffin against muay thai champion from Singapore Bardon Ng in the 66kg class. Three other Malaysian boxers in the 2018 AFC are Azwan Che against Ryan Jakiri (Philippines) in the 65kg class; Izham Red Army against Saentanong (Thailand) in the 57kg class; and Mohd Fazzatkie Zaki vs Vo Van Dai (Vietnam) in the 63kg category.
