300 Sailors From 12 Countries To Participate In LIRP

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia Jan 21 (Bernama) -- The Langkawi International Regatta Perdana(LIRP) to be organised by the Kedah Sailing Association next week will become a ranking circuit in Asia. Kedah Sailing Association deputy president Mohd Affendy Abdullah said the recognition was conferred by the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF). "So far, 300 sailors from 12 countries have confirmed their participation for the regatta," he told Bernama, here Thursday. Mohd Affendy said South Korea would be sending the most number of sailors for the regatta (44) while Malaysia as the host has lined up 35 sailors. The regatta is organised under the auspices of the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF), National Sport Council, Malaysian Sailing Association (MSA), National Sports Council of Kedah and the Kedah Sailing Association (KSA). --BERNAMA
