The 6th gold medal for Iranian camp in Incheon

TEHRAN, Sep. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s compound archery shooter has won the sixth medal of Iranian camp in Incheon, defeating its Indian rival in final match. Esmail Ebadi defeated Indian rival 145-141 to win the gold medal. He had already won his Philippine opponent in semifinals. In track and field, Maryam Tousi, Iran’s 100-meter athlete came third with 11.70 seconds to qualify for the next round. In men’s section, Reza Qasemi also was third to cross the finish line with 10.33 to qualify for the semifinals. Japanese and Korean runners came first and second ahead of Qasemi. In men’s hammer throw, Kaveh Mousavi, who is a silver medalist in Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010, dropped out of the competetions with 3 straight faults, to squander chances for platform and medal for Iranian camp. Reza Moqaddam, Iran’s other hammer thrower, had a similar fate of 3 subsequent faults. In women’s weight throw, Leila Rajabi came next to Chinese Liao Gong with 17.80 meters and won silver medal. Another Chinese thrower came third. In men’s freestyle wrestling, Akbar Dodangeh criticized his team’s lackluster performance in the first day. “Hassan Rahimi and Mostafa Hosseinkhani had not lived to our expectations and performed poorly,” he said, “they were not in the ideal conditions, and their rivals were not a position to defeat these two freestylers,” he asserted. “We keen to see Reza Yazdani to perform to satisfy our expectations to alleviate the bitterness of failure with winning a gold medal,” he invested hope on 97Kg. class wrestler.
