AFC Champions League: Al Ain Beat Lekhwiya 5-0

Doha, April 15 (QNA) - Al Ain became the first team to secure their place in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League as the United Arab Emirates side produced a vibrant performance to hammer Qatari champions Lekhwiya 5-0 on Tuesday. Al Ain romped to a decisive win at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium with Asamoah Gyan scoring twice after he had helped to set up earlier goals for Ibrahim Diaky, Alex Brosque and Mohamed Abdulrahman. While Al Ain can now prepare for the Round of 16, Lekhwiya, who reached the quarter-finals last year, have been all but eliminated after they suffered their heaviest-ever defeat in the AFC Champions League.(QNA)
