AFC Instructors Certification Kicks Off with Qatari Participation

Kuala Lumpur, February 16 (QNA) - Asia's officials gathered for the inauguration of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Instructors Certification Programme on Saturday in the Malaysian capital. The certification Programme was inaugurated by AFC Referees Committee Deputy Chairperson Hani Taleb Ballan. A total 25 male and nine female instructors are part of the three-day evaluation from Feb 16-18. Qatar's Jassim Al Hail and Abdulrahman Abdu are participating in the programme. The certification programme emphasizes quality over quantity and its main goal is to accredit top instructors for the AFC Referee Instructors panel from 2019 to ensure quality and consistent refereeing education. Participants will be tested on various theory and practical applications such as Laws of the Game knowledge and interpretation, analytical skills related to match situations, planning of practical training sessions, presentation skills, English language and other areas such as computing and video editing. Hani Taleb Ballan commented saying: "The AFC, in its Vision and Mission, has put ensuring Asian teams succeed on the world stage as one of the three main objectives. It is this attention to detail that ensures the AFC continues to be a ground-breaker and that is the case with the first Referee Instructors Certificate at the world level. There will be higher competency standards with a stringent and comprehensive selection process. It sets new challenges that are necessary to keep raising the bar of refereeing instruction." (QNA)
