AIBA World Championships Gets Underway Tomorrow

Doha, October 04 (QNA) - The AIBA World Championships will get underway tomorrow at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena. The opening ceremony, which will begin at 7pm on Monday, will bring together 260 boxers from 74 countries. With the global boxing elite having arrived in the past few days, local organizers are ready for 10 days of exhilarating action and jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family. The very first edition was held in Havana, Cuba in 1974, when the home fans cheered their hero Teofilo Stevenson to his first gold medal. Since then, many of the biggest names in world boxing have won titles including the most successful fighter of all time . (QNA)
