Al Khatri claims Nasser bin Hamad endurance night race title

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned Fahad Al Khatri as the winner of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Night Race for a total distance of 100km, held last Friday at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. Al Khatri won the race riding his horse Picos Shazam from Victorious Stable, as he completed the three stages in a total time of 03:38:36 hours with an average speed of 27km. He was followed by Raed Mahmood who came second, riding his horse Xeres De Saulvons from Al Ajyal Stable, and completed the race in a total time of 03:53:23 hours. Third was Mohammed Al Khatri riding his horse Querohz De Benech in a total time of 03:59:52 hours. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad crowned the winners of the Stables races category, with Raed Mahmood claiming first place riding his horse Xeres De Saulvons in a total time of 03:53:23 hours. Mohammed Al Khatri was second on Querohz De Benech in total time of 03:59:52 hours, while Shaikh Saqer bin Khalid Al Khalifa riding his horse Navara came third in a total time of 04:00:48 hours. On this occasion, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamadpraised the great success of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Endurance Night Race, stressing this success came by the big participation and good results achieved by all the participating riders, who showed an excellent performance confirming the big improvement and development in the Bahraini endurance sport. He expressed his bright optimism for the next endurance races at local level after the great results achieved by the riders, stressing that the Bahrain Royal Team will always aim to discover the talented riders and improve their skills to support the team. Shaikh Nasser congratulated the winners of the race praised the efforts made by all the working committees, which has had a big impact for the success of the event. The results of the stages: Stage 1: Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa riding his horse Alandell Moonraker completed the course in first place in a total time of 01:29:30 hours, followed by Fahad Al Khatri riding his horse Picos in a total time of 01:29:51 hours, then Rashid Al Ruwaie riding his horse Choukran in a total time of 01:30:03 hours. Stage 2: Fahad Al Khatri leaded the second stage when he completed the second stage in a total time of 01:28:29 hours, followed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa in a total time of 01:34:38 hours, while Rashid Al Ruwaie came third completing the course in a total time of 01:35:30 hours. Stage 3: The last stage was won by Fahad Al Khatri who completed the stage in a total time of 40:16 minutes, followed by Raed Mahmood riding his horse Xeres in a total time of 41:51 minutes, while Mohammed Al Khatri completed the course in a total time of 48:11 minutes.
