Al Sadd Take on Al Hilal in AFC Champions League Semi-Final Tuesday

Riyadh, October 21 (QNA) - Al Sadd will take on Al Hilal on Tuesday in the second leg of the 2019 AFC Champions League semi-final at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh. Three weeks earlier, Al Hilal had come from a goal down to register a 4-1 win in Doha. Domestically, Al Hilal's last outing saw them demolish newly promoted Damak 3-0 on Friday. They remain unbeaten in seven and lead the Saudi Pro League table with 19 points, four ahead of their nearest chasers Al Wehda. Should Al Hilal navigate Tuesday's encounter safely, it would be their third appearance in the AFC Champions League final after 2014 and 2017. On the two previous occasions, they were narrowly beaten by Western Sydney Wanderers and Urawa Red Diamonds respectively. Xavi's men have not featured in league action since October 5 when they were beaten by archrivals Al Rayyan 4-2 in the derby, a result that left them fifth in the table with 12 points from five matches. The Qatari side are staring at a second consecutive semi-final exit, having been eliminated at the same stage by Persepolis last year. They remain, however, the last West Asian side to lift the trophy back in 2011. (QNA)
