Al Sadd Take on Al Nassr in AFC Champions League Quarterfinal Second Leg

Doha, September 15 (QNA) - Al Sadd are looking to qualify for the AFC Champions League semifinals when they host Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr in the second leg of their AFC Champions League quarterfinal at the Al Sadd Stadium on Monday. The 2011 AFC Champions League winners Al Sadd go into the second leg against Al Nassr a goal down after they let slip a 1-0 lead to lose 1-2 in the first leg in Riyadh on 26th August. Al Sadd qualified for the quarterfinals by defeating Al Duhail 4-2 on aggregate, while Al Nassr put it past the UAE's Al Wahda 4-3 on aggregate in Round of 16. Al Sadd reached the Round of 16 after topping Group D with 10 points, whereas Al Nassr progressed to the knockout stage by becoming runners-up in Group A, also with 10 points. Al Sadd remain the last team from West Asia to lift the continental title, but have a tough test on hand against the Saudi Arabian champions although they do have an away goal advantage. Al Nassr, meanwhile, have never previously gone beyond the Round of 16, and that too not since the 2009 edition. However, they boast in-form striker Giuliano. Both teams got a boost ahead of the crucial tie. Al Sadd's South Korean midfielder Nam Tae-Hee, who missed the first leg with a muscle injury, may start this time, while Al Nassr's striker Abderrazaq Hamdallah, who plied his trade with Al Rayyan in Qatar, is also a likely starter. The Moroccan had missed the first-leg game too. Al Sadd's Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah and South Korean midfielder Jung Woo-Young, who were on duty for their countries during the international break, joined the squad. Sri Lankan Dilan Perera will officiate the match along with assistant referees Koh Hyung-Jin (South Korea) and Jamin Rupesh (Sri Lanka). Yoon Kwang-Yeol (South Korea) will be the fourth official, with Deniye Gedara (Sri Lanka) and Don Sendanayaka (Sri Lanka) being the additional referees. (QNA)
