Aleksiev named Bulgaria's Volleyball captain for Baku 2015

Baku, May 30, AZERTAC Bulgaria's Volleyball coach Nikolai Zhelyazkov names Todor Aleksiev team captain for Baku 2015. Bulgaria have been drawn into Pool B at the Baku 2015 European Games along with Russia, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Slovakia. Team coach Nikolai Zhelyazkov will call upon the experienced Todor Aleksiev to lead his team, according to the Bulgarian Focus website. The 32-year-old Aleksiev won bronze medals with Bulgaria at the 2006 FIVB World Championship, 2007 FIVB World Cup and 2009 European Championships. He was also named the Best Scorer and Best Receiver in the 2012 FIVB World League. The Gazprom-Yugra Surgut Outside Hitter Aleksiev, who has played for the Bulgaria national team since 2006, also served as the Bulgarian captain at the 2014 FIVB World Championship.
