Amir Ali-Akbari Greco-Roman World Champ, Iran 4th Best

Tehran, Sept 23, IRNA -- Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team’s 120 Kg wrestler beat silver medal winner of London 2012 Olympics, Heiki Nabi from Estonia in final match of Hungary 2013 Greco-Roman World Championship in Budapest Sunday night. The 3rd and last day of the Senior Greco-Roman World Championship began on Sunday afternoon in the Hungarian capital city, Budapest. Amir Ali-Akbari beat the 120-Kg champion of 2006 China Kuang Ju World Championship and the silver medal winner of 2012 London Olympics Heiki Naibi from Estonia in a tough game in which he was all the time attacking his competitor, 4-0, winning the historical world championship of his weight and the gold medal. At the end of the first round of this match Ali-Akbari had twice urged the Estonian champion to step out of the wrestling mat, thus gaining 2 points. At the end of the 2nd round, too, he managed to bring his heavy weight competitor to his knees, gaining two more points and winning the game 4-0 in his favor. Iran’s best ranking at 120 Kg of Greco-Roman belonged to Bashir Babajanzadeh with his bronze medal in 2011 Istanbul Senior Greco-Roman World Championship.
