Doha, February 14 (QNA) - German third-seeded Angelique Kerber qualified to Qatar Total Open semi-finals after beating Czech world number 22 Barbora Strycova in two sets against one. Angelique Kerber is seeking to win her first Qatar Open title after becoming a runner-up in 2014, when she lost to Romanian Simona Halep 2/6, 3/6. The 31-year-old has won 13 titles in her professional career, starting in 2003, including three Grand Slam titles, 2016 Australian Open, 2016 American Open and Wimbledon 2018. Czech player Strycova, 32, is wishing to advance in Qatar Open after her strong start and to follow the example of compatriot Petra Kvitova, who won Qatar Open tournament in 2018 after beating Spanish Garbine Muguruza 4/6, 6/3 and 6/3.
