ASEAN Public Service Sport Championship: Malaysian Badminton Team To Meet Laos

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian badminton team continues to maintain its undefeated record when it easily whipped Thailand and Vietnam, 5-0 in both matches at the ASEAN Public Service Sport Championship at the Cheras Badminton Stadium here, Tuesday. Malaysia, which was supreme in Group A, also easily beat Cambodia 5-0 in the first match of the group and would meet the runner up of Group B, Laos in the semi-final round Wednesday. National Badminton manager, ASP Sahimi Husin said former national players, such as Wong Choong Hann, Julia Wong, Lim Yin Loo, Yang Li Lian still had good performances in badminton. "The national badminton team have an advantage because it is lined with former national players. Despite not being active at the international level, they are still very sharp. "I am confident the national badminton team will have no problem facing Laos at the semi-final tomorrow (Wednesday) and we expect to meet Indonesia in the final, which is also tomorrow (Wednesday)," he told Bernama.
