Aspetar and Partner Open Sports Medicine Conference in Belgrade

Belgrade, May 21 (QNA) - Aspetar and Serbian Institute of Sports and Sports Medicine Thursday opened the first Serbian International Sports Medicine Conference. Aspetar, member of Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), is one of the organisers of the conference. Chief Shared Services Officer Ali Mohamed Al Kubaisi is representing AZF. He made the opening speech on behalf of AZF Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al Sulaiteen. Sports medicine experts from Aspetar are taking part in the three-day conference which will mull 20 research papers. Rehabilitation and The National Sports Medicine Programme Director Riadh Miladi will present a paper on 'The Aspetar Model of Sports Physiotherapy Practice'. Aspetar Acting Director General Dr Mohamed Ghaith Al-Kuwari said, "We are honoured to work with the Serbian Institute for Sports and Sports Medicine to develop sports medicine not only in Serbia, but in the Balkan region". Presenters are sharing their experiences at lectures, discussions and interactive workshops. Topics being probed at the conference are: Athlete Screening and Sports Injury Prevention, Sports Injury Management, Sports Medical Issues in Athletes, Rehabilitation for knee, elbow, shoulder injuries and session to compare "The Aspetar Vs. European Experiences". Serbian Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovicic said, "The main priority for us all is the health of athletes. Having recognised the importance sport medicine has in the overall development of sport, we have decided to host this conference". (QNA)
