Aspetar Wins 6th Sheikh Fahad Hiroshima-Asia Sports Medicine and Science Award

Doha, August 15 (QNA) - Aspetar, the world's leading specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, won today the 6th Sheikh Fahad Hiroshima-Asia Sports Medicine and Science Award, which is one of the most prestigious awards organized every four years on the sidelines of the Asian Games. Aspetar said in a statement today that the award will be presented at a ceremony at the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia in Jakarta, in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed Fahd Al-Sabah, President of the Association, and representatives of Qatar Olympic Committee and Aspetar. Indonesia is currently hosting the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang. The State of Qatar is participating with 222 athletes representing 20 sports federations in 30 activities which considered as Qatar's largest participation in the Asian Games. Aspetar is the first specialised Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in the Gulf region. It provides the highest possible medical treatment for sports-related injuries in a state-of-the-art facility, staffed by some of the world's leading sports medicine practitioners.
