Azerbaijani sambo wrestlers claim three silvers at Baku 2015

Baku, June 22, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s female wrestler Nazakat Khalilova (-52kg) has claimed the silver medal of the Baku 2015 First European Games after losing to Russian Anna Kharitonova. Bronzes went to Lithuanian Ruta Aksionova and Magdalena Varbanova of Bulgaria. Russian Yana Kostenko won the women's sambo -60kg, defeating Bulgarian Kalina Stefanova in the final. Stefanova took the silver. Bronzes went to Bulgarian Katsiaryna Prakapenka and Romanian Daniela Hondiu. Azerbaijan`s Islam Gasimov won the silver medal in the men's -57kg. Russia's Aymergen Atkunov claimed the gold, while Belarusian Uladzislau Burdz and Georgian Vakhtangi Chidrashvili grabbed the bronze medals. Belarusian Stsiapan Papou won the men's sambo -74kg defeating Azerbaijan`s Amil Gasimov in the final. Bronze medals went to Georgian Kakha Mamulashvili and Russian Azamat Sidakov. 13:44 Azerbaijan`s World sambo champion Islam Gasimov has progressed to the final of the Baku-2015 first European Games. On the way to the final he defeated Romanian Orlando Gruia and Georgian Vakhtangi Chidrashvili. Gasimov will take on Russian Aymergen Atkunov in the gold medal bout. 13:29 Baku, June 22, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s sambo fighter, European champion Vasif Seferbeyov has qualified to the final of the Baku-2015 first European Games after beating Ukrainian Razmik Tonoyan. Seferbeyov will lock horns with Russian Artem Osipenko in the gold medal bout.
