Azerbaijan`s Abbasov draws with Group B leader French Bacrot in Shamkir Chess-2014

Shamkir, April 24 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Nijat Abbasov has been held to a draw by the Group B leader French Etienne Bacrot in the fourth round in the Shamkir Chess-2014 tournament in the Azerbaijani city of Shamkir. At a press conference following the game, Abbasov, the youngest player in the tournament, said Shamkir Chess-2014 “is the biggest tournament I have ever attended in my life”. “Playing against strong players is both a big responsibility and a good chance to gain experience.” Abbasov described his draw with Bacrot as “a good result.” The French chess player said he aimed to finish as the winner of the Group B.
