Bahrain Cycling Team established

Manama, May 29 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, has officially launched the Kingdom of Bahrain Cycling Team where HH Shaikh Nasser took to Instagram to unveil the team, posting an image of himself wearing the team's formal kit. The new team will feature selected cyclists who will be competing in various cycling contests. HH Shaikh Nasser, who attended the Olympic Day organised by Bahrain Olympic Committee, affirmed Bahrain's keenness to take part in different sporting events in order to promote the modern and bright-full sporting portrait of the Kingdom as per the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been keen to participate in different types of sporting events, during which the country's champions achieved many extraordinary results, in an effort to shed light on the Kingdom of Bahrain's civilisational, developmental and sporting achievements. "The Kingdom of Bahrain has become the home of the Triathlon and the motorsport in the Middle East. The formation of the team will definitely further enable the Kingdom to become the home of cycling sport in the region as well as represent a great leap towards promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with its 2030 vision," HH Shaikh Nasser explained, before adding "The Kingdom of Bahrain Cycling Team will soon make its debut on the international scene, and we hope to begin achieving positive results as this will be a morale-boosting for the team and will help the team to gain more experience for the coming competitions," HH Shaikh Nasser stated that the cycling races are considered amongst the top sporting events worldwide due to the large number of followers in light of the intensity of the competition being witnessed in all the events. "Our participation in these competitions will affirm our desire to take part in various sporting events, and will help also expand the number of practitioners to this sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain. "The cycling races have become amongst the most important events in the Kingdom of Bahrain with many Bahraini youths and residents as well as many from outside the Kingdom have shown their keenness to participate in them. And this goes in line with our strategy and goals behind the formation of this team, as this will encourage many to practice this sport daily," HH Shaikh Nasser concluded.
