Bahrain endurance riders' results hailed

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the regional achievement accomplished by Bahrain Royal Endurance Team members in HH the President of UAE 160 Kilometre Endurance Championship. Bahraini riders Raed Mahmood and Mohammed Helal Al Khatery won the fourth and fifth places respectively among more than 190 local, regional and international riders. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserted that the victory comes as a result of the endless support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Bahraini equestrian and endurance sports, placing it among the leading countries in such sports. Emirati rider Shaikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Mahtoum won the first place finishing in 06:04:54 time with the speed of 26 Km/H. The second and third places went to female rider Madho Sinka and Hamad Al Kaabi who finished in 06:06:01 and 06:24:16 time respectively with the same speed. As for Raed Mahmood and Mohammed Helal Al Khatery they both finished in 6 hours and 43 minutes, with one second apart from each other. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended on the Bahraini riders for showing a remarkable performance in the race, adding that the slight difference of one second between themselves, as well as between them and the other contenders reflected the strong competition witnessed in the race. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa who personally attended the race said the race was strong during its five stages, as the competing riders continuously traded places in their pursue of the first place. He also praised the members of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team for their performance in the championship, which he said will reflect positively on the team’s performance in future endurance championships. On his part, Instructor of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team Shaikh Duaij bin Salman Al Khalifa congratulated the leadership and HH Shiakh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the regional accomplishment, adding that winning the fourth and fifth places in a competition that consisted of more than 190 skilled riders is a remarkable achievement.
