Bahrain looks forward to new feat at Rio Olympics

Manama, July 25 (BNA): Bahrain has high hopes to celebrate a new feat at the Rio Olympics next month after it fielded the largest delegation since it started taking part in the Olympic Games. In the 2012 London Olympics, Bahrain won a silver medal thanks to its athlete Maryam Jamal in the 1,500 metre race. The delegation will be headed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth and Sports Affairs Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and the male and female participants will compete in the athletics, shooting, swimming and wrestling events. Bahrain took part in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles (1984), Seoul (1988), Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), Beijing (2008) and London (2012).
