Bahrain officials to leave for GCC Games

Manama, Oct. 5 (BNA): The first batch of Bahrain’s administrative delegation for the next GCC Games in Dammam in Saudi Arabia, is due to depart on Wednesday. The second edition of the games is due to take place from October 15 to 26 with Bahrain sending more than 170 of its finest athletes. Bahrain delegation director Feras Al Halwachi said the administrative delegation is making the final arrangements for the Bahrain athletes ahead of the games countdown. Arrangements include accommodation, transports and training programme. Al Halwachi will be the first to head for Dammam along with his deputy Hamad Al Baker, treasurer Yaqoub Al Mohsin and administrator Mohammed Al Zayed. The second batch of officials, including Ghuloom Hussain and Ebrahim Siyadi will leave late on, while the media delegation are set to depart on October 9 and 13. Bahrain will be competing in 11 sports teams at the upcoming edition of the GCC Games, namely athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, handball, weightlifting, table tennis, bowling, karate, swimming and goalball.
