Bahrain-Saudi talks on Asian fencing event

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee General Secretary Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar stressed the committee’s keenness to welcome its guests while hosting various regional, continental and international sports competitions. This came at his meeting with Bahrain Fencing Association president Shaikh Ebrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, Saudi Arabia’s Fencing Federation vice-president Jameel Bubsheit at the committee premises in Seef. Askar commended the strong ties and bilateral cooperation between the Bahrain and Saudi federations in hosting the joint Asian Junior Championship, which will take place from February 20 to 29. Both parties also discussed the two sides’ preparations to organize this upcoming continental event, and expressed confidence in the two nations’ ability to jointly host the championships. Also present at the meeting were Bahrain Fencing Association general secretary Saleh Faraj, treasurer Ebrahim Huwaish and BOC Sports Associations Affairs director Hisham Al Baloshi.
