Bahraini athlete's historic exploit praised

Bogota, July 19 (BNA): Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Athletics Association and Head of the Kingdom’s delegation to the IAAF World Youth Championships, Cali 2015, currently hosted by Columbia, Ruqaya Al Ghasra has expressed pride in the unprecedented exploit of the Bahraini athlete Salwa Eid Nasser, who won the gold medal of the Girls’ 400-metre final. Al-Ghasra said Salwa Eid had shined in the world championship by clinching the gold medal and breaking the world record. She added that the achievement was widely applauded by media personnel covering the event, as well as other athletes and technical staffs of participating teams. Salwa Eid’s landmark achievement adds another milestone to the rich record of successful accomplishments of the Bahraini athletics, under the leadership of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association and President of the West Asian Athletics Association, Al-Ghasra said.
