Bahraini gold medalist praises BAA's support

Bogota, July 19 (BNA): Bahraini athlete Salwa Eid Nasser has expressed pride in winning the gold medal of the the Girls’ 400-metre final of the IAAF World Youth Championships, Cali 2015. She credited Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, the President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), for the milestone achievement, noting that BAA’s support has enabled her to clinch the gold medal and break the world record. Salwa Eid clocked 51.50 seconds, and was followed by USA’s Lynna Irby, who clinched the silver medal in 51.79, and Great Britain’s Catherine Reid, who came through to take the bronze medal in a personal best of 52.25.
