Baku to host 2016 Final AOB World Olympic Qualifying Event

Baku, July 18 (AzerTAc). The final AOB World Olympic Qualifying Event will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, as the International Boxing Association (AIBA) has selected the host cities for the Olympic qualifying events for Rio 2016, and for their major competitions throughout 2015 and 2016. Yaounde, Cameroon will host the 2016 AIBA Olympic Boxing (AOB) African Olympic Qualifying Event, and Buenos Aires do the same for the Americas. The European event will be in Istanbul, and the AOB Asian/Oceania Olympic Qualifying Event will take place in Qian’an, China. The 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan. All host cities were selected on July 17th by the AIBA Executive Committee Members in Istanbul, Turkey. Vice President of the Azerbaijani Boxing Federation, member of the AIBA Executive Committee Suleyman Mikayilov attended the event.
