Beng Hee's Exit Ends Malaysia's Campaign In Men's World Squash Championship

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's campaign in the 2014 Men's World Squash Championship in Doha, Qatar has ended after the country's sole survivor Ong Beng Hee lost in the second round Monday. The 34-year-old Penangite lost 5-11, 6-11, 6-11 to Stephen Coppinger of South Africa in a match played in a glass court at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Qatar. Copppinger however, will face an uphill task against 10th seed, Tarek Momen of Egypt in the third round on Tuesday. The 26-year-old Egyptian had earlier received stiff resistance from Tom Richards of England before registering a 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-7 victory after a gruelling encounter. The 36th edition of the tournament offers total prize money of US$325,000 (RM1.087 million). --BERNAMA
