Best Player In AirAsia-QPR Tour To Attend QPR Academy In London - Executive Chairman

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The AirAsia-QPR (Queens Park Rangers) Coaching Clinic Tour gives an opportunity to the best player from among the children of the members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to go to the QPR Academy in London. AirAsia Berhad executive chairman Kamarudin Meranun (two right) said six coaches from the QPR Trust Team would choose one of the top players from the whole group of 65 players. "For the programme today (Saturday), we have brought in coaches from QPR to Malaysia to train children of members of the ATM who are talented in football so that we can highlight their talents. It also gives them an opportunity to see how the QPR train their professional players in England," he told reporters during the training session at the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) Sports Complex, here Saturday. Kamarudin said the AirAsiaQPR had earlier concluded their tour series to China and Thailand and would extend the tour series to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. He said they would select the best player from each training clinic organised to be brought to London for early exposure. Meanwhile, College Football Academy Director, Danny Edwards said QPR wanted the children to live their dreams to be a footballer in future. "What we are looking for...we are trying to inspire the young players. We want them to live their dream, have the opportunity to play football with the Premier League coaches, play with the academy players. "Now they know that we are looking for one player to bring back to London, they can't believe it. The opportunity for them is unbelievable. We are looking for excellent players," he said.
