BIC all set to welcome public in F1 Village Thursday for Bahrain GP 2019

Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): Bahrain International Circuit’s (BIC) Formula 1 Village vending area is all set to begin welcoming race fans from Thursday ( March 28) for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2019. For the first time in the 15-year history of the desert racing spectacle, BIC is opening its doors to the general public for an additional day of "Limitless" fun and thrills, as ticket-holders can start enjoying all the off-track entertainment on offer at "The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East". Gates are scheduled to be open from 4pm until 7pm on Thursday night. BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa commented: "Our array of family entertainment has something to offer for all ages. It promises to be an unforgettable weekend. "Indeed, our slogan for this year’s race is ‘Limitless’ and we hope to offer fans a limitless level of fun, excitement and memories." "Demand for tickets for this weekend has been amazing, with the main grandstand already sold out. I would therefore urge fans to book quickly to avoid disappointment." BIC’s wide variety of attractions also include massive carnival rides and games, a haunted house, a kids’ activity zone and an army of roaming performers, plus so much more. One of the highlights of Thursday’s line-up of activities takes fans away from the vending area and into the heart of all the racing in the Formula 1 Pit Lane. All those with tickets to watch the three days of competitive action from Friday to Sunday will be able to join the hugely popular Formula 1 Pit Lane Walk. This is one of the most sought-after activities for the public at the Grand Prix each year. It offers a chance for fans to get a close-up look at the Formula 1 teams hard at work in their garages. They may possibly even spot one of the sport’s star drivers lending a hand as they prepare their cars for the start of the weekend’s racing the next day. The fans will be able to see all 10 Formula 1 teams as they stroll down the same pit lane that transforms into a hotbed of intense action over the weekend. This Formula 1 Pit Lane Walk is scheduled to begin at 5pm and it will continue until 6.45pm. There will also be a Pit Lane Walk and a Truck Tour for F1 Experience guests on Thursday. Aside from these, among the attractions that will certainly stand out at BIC’s F1 Village are the gigantic Ferris Wheel, a towering Star Flyer, a Venetian Carousel, "The Mummy’s Tomb" haunted house, and the F1 Fanzone. The Ferris Wheel and Star Flyer are firsts for the Grand Prix weekend, yet both are surely set to become favourites for all race-goers. The Ferris Wheel is 42 metres in height and it boasts 27 gondolas from where those inside can marvel at the scenic views of the surrounding area. The Star Flyer towers 60 metres high and it has 16 gondolas. It will make you feel like you are flying around like a bird in circles while being captivated by a magnificent view. F1 Fanzone is the central place where Formula 1 aims to break down the barriers between the sport and race enthusiasts. It offers a variety of engagement activities that are similar to what is experienced by drivers, team personnel, and others involved in the world’s leading racing championship. These F1 Fanzone activities include F1 Esports, a Reaction Challenge, a Pitstop Challenge and a TV Challenge, plus an appearance of F1 driver Bobble Heads. Meanwhile, a team of roaming performers will be on hand to interact with race-goers and keep them entertained throughout the weekend. The roaming performers include the Circolo Stilt-Walkers, The Dans, Dr. Bubbles, Rainbow Ballet, Tri-Colour Walkabout, Circus Parade, the Batucada Timba musicians, Steam Dancers, Men Alien, Walking Funfair, Rainbow Carnival and Steve and Tom circus entertainment. Tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix are selling fast, so those interested in attending the region’s biggest sporting and social event are advised to pick theirs up at the soonest. Tickets for seating to the Main Grandstand are BD150 apiece. A Batelco Grandstand ticket for all four days originally costs BD120, but there are also two other options for Batelco Grandstand seats. For a ticket to Saturday and Sunday only, the cost is BD100, while for Friday only it is BD60. A four-day ticket to the Turn One Grandstand is BD100 before any discount; whereas University and Victory Grandstand tickets are originally BD60 apiece. It is worth noting that BIC is covering the Value Added Tax (VAT) on all Bahrain Grand Prix ticket prices, saving fans from any additional expense to attend the Formula 1 spectacle. The prices continue to be amongst the most competitive for any event on the Formula 1 calendar.
