BOC chief lauds HM King's Cup Championship success

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar commended the tremendous success of the recently-organised King Cup Endurance Championship over 120km. The event was organized by the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation with an elite group of the Royal Team Stable and other stables from across the kingdom and the UAE taking part. Askar said the presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the race venue was a major contributor to the success of the competition, and valued attendance of UAE vice-president, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Emir of Dubai Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The BOC general secretary also congratulated Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, BOC President and Royal Team captain, on the victory achieved by his team member Fahad Al Khatry in the race. He noted the outstanding orgnisation of the event, thanks to a well-placed plan by the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation - head by president Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa - which adds to the previous success made on the regional, continental and international levels
