BOC first to use ERP System

Manama, May 24 (BNA): The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) became the first national sport organization to bring centralised Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Management Solution to its offices in Seef. The decision was per directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to apply this system to achieve a quantum leap in accounting and financial areas. ERP is a comprehensive business process management solution that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources. It integrates all facets of an operation, including product planning, development, manufacturing, sales and marketing. ERP system is considered an enterprise application as it is designed to be used by larger businesses and often requires dedicated teams to customize and analyze the data and to handle upgrades and deployment. In contrast, Small business ERP applications are lightweight business management software solutions, customized for the business industry you work in. BOC Information Technology Director Nawaf Abdulrahman said the system will help in managing financial and administrative operations centrally, noting that it’s presently being implemented at the Committee and soon will be applied at national sports federations. Abdulrahman said the committee starting using the new system on the first quarter of 2016, adding that the new solution is quick to implement and easy to use, with the power to support your growth ambition. BOC Finance manager Hasan Al Khaja said the ERP management solution offers many advantages, as it saves effort, time and cost. He noted that this system provides accuracy in order to ensure the integrity of the financial statements.
