BOC signs partnership with Swiss firm

Manama, Aug. 19 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has signed five-year agreement with Swiss firm ‘Dartfish to unleash the full potential of video analysis for coaches, athletes, healthcare specialists, instructors and students. The deal, made at the committee offices in Seef, aims to further boost administrative and technical outputs of Bahrain Academy which is under the BOC. Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar signed the agreement with Mahmood Fakhro, representing the Dartfish in Bahrain, in the presence of Bahrain Academy director Nabeel Taha and training programmes specialist Mahmood Yateem. Askar said the move is part of the committee’s strategy to cope with scientific technical programmes being carried out by the BOC through the Olympic Academy. "We seek to develop national sports officials within sports clubs and associations from Bahrain and abroad. We are so proud of having someone like Mahmood Fakhro to qualify national competencies in the field of sports," he added. "Dartfish is the most advanced video analysis technology on the market and is utilized by thousands of education, coaching and professional sporting organisations across the world," said academy director Nabeel Taha. "This agreement will help those interested in taking part in dartfish courses to benefit from the development featured at the programme and we are so proud that the academy is the only official authority in the kingdom that have the rights to present this training programme," he said. Fakhro expressed thanks and appreciation to the BOC for continuing its partnership with the company, which has proven its efficiency with a technology being implemented worldwide.
