BRAVE is Bahraini project with global dimension

Manama, Aug. 9 (BNA): The Brave Combat Federation, in co-operation with HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office, held a press conference on Wednesday at Sofitel Hotel, Zallaq, where the new plans for BRAVE Championship were revealed. Speaking during the event were President of KHK MMA Mr Mohammed Shahid, President of Bahrain MMA Federation Mr Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, Manager of the Marketing Department of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority Mr Yousif Al Khan and member of Green Hill company Mr Abid Jhangheer. On this occasion, HH Shaikh bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honorary President of Bahrain MMA Federation, expressed his pride and gratitude for how the event has developed to become one of the leading MMA promotions at international level in two years time. The tremendous growth of BRAVE has allowed us to implement our vision which we set for introducing this promotion on September 23, 2016, with aims to maintain Bahrain's position as an urban country distinguished by modernisation and development across all sectors, especially sport, he said. Royal support valued "We value the Royal support and interest extended by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to all the efforts we have made to ensure accomplishing unprecedented success and achievements for sports in Bahrain, including MMA," HH Shaikh Khalid revealed. Nasser bin Hamad's follow-up highlighted HH Shaikh Khalid pointed to the follow-up of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, stating that it has contributed to accelerating the expansion of the event. International Model HH Shaikh Khalid said that Bahrain has become an international model in the MMA sport thanks to the initiatives it has introduced and the successes its MMA athletes have achieved, regionally and internationally. Brave goes beyond the consideration that it's only a promotion. It's a national project to serve to promote Bahrain at a global level and bolster its bilateral ties with other countries at all sectors and fields, including sports, economy and commerce, he added. Future plans Shahid said: "First of all, I take this opportunity to express our deep thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his great confidence and unlimited support, which has given this tournament a great value and has allowed it to spread widely across the world. The tournament managed to gain a lot of popularity thanks to HH Shaikh Khalid's efforts. In few days we will be witnessing a gloss lustre shines in the sky of Morocco with the hosting of the 14th edition, which will be our entry to Africa," He added, "in implementation of the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, we have decided to organise the 15th edition in Colombia on the 7th of September, and hold the 16th edition in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on the 21st of September. The 17th edition will take place in Pakistan in the month of October. As for the eighteenth edition, it will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain within the activities of the BRAVE International Fight Week, which will be hosted from the 8th to the 11th of November, in conjunction with the 2018 IMMAF World Championships which will commence in Bahrain. The 19th edition of BRAVE will be embraced by Saudi Arabia, while the 20th version will take place in South Africa in December,"
