BVA chief praises HH Shaikh Nasser's Ironman victory

Manama, Oct. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received a cable of congratulations from the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA), Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, on the success of the Representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council of Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to clinch the first place at IRONMAN World Championship which was held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, USA.  BVA president also sent congratulatory cables to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on the same occasion. Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed stressed that HH Shaikh Nasser’s victory crowns his tremendous efforts in the IRONMAN sport in which he boosted Bahrain’s image, thus embodying this year’s slogan of the "Year of Gold" on the ground. He pointed out that HH Shaikh had promised to win the IRONMAN Championship 2018, and has succeeded in keeping his promise, which reflects his determination, dedication and strong will. HH Shaikh Nasser is not only a sports leader of the first category, but also a strong athlete who has overcome all difficulties and challenges, thus proving himself as a role model for all athletes in the kingdom. BVA chief extended, on behalf of the volleyball community in Bahrain, heartfelt congratulations to HH Shaikh Nasser, who, he said, is a source of pride for all the members of the youth and sports community in Bahrain.
