CHAMPION N.TUVSHINBAYAR WINS GOLD

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Honored Sportsman and Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar captured a gold medal in the men -100 kg category contest for judo at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon of South Korea. He defeated judokas from Tajikistan, South Korea and Uzbekistan in the preliminary and semi-final rounds. At the finals, he beat Maxim Rakov, a World champion from Kazakhstan. The same day, O.Duurenbayar won a silver medal in the men +100 kg bout and L.Otgonbaatar--a bronze medal in the men -90 kg. Two women B.Monkhtuya (-78 kg) and O.Javzmaa (+78 kg) took 5th places. The latter missed the bronze medal match due to an injury. With three gold, three silver and four bronze medals, our judo team is the 3rd in the judo tournament of the Asian Games. By the team results of the Games, Mongolia is 4th with three gold, three silver and six bronze medals. The Chinese are leading the medal table with 29 gold, 15 silver and 18 bronze medals on the fourth day.
