Champions team congratulated

Manama, June 30 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), deputed Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder, to attend the Sports Media Indoor Soccer Championship's conclusive event. The event was held at the Bahrain Handball Association's gym hall in Umm Al Hassam. The event was organized by Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA)'s Sports Media Committee, with participation of six teams. The teams were formed by the various media and press establishments in the kingdom, participated in the championship which was sponsored by Bahrain Luxury Cars Centre. The event was also graced by the attendance of Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Centres and Organisations, Dr. Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, the ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Affairs and Facilities, Khalid Saleem Al Haj, and the Chairman of the International Federation of Sports Journalism, Mohammed Al Maliki. HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his pride in the huge sports media contributions and remarkable role in the successes achieved by Bahraini sports, affirming that the sports media is a key partner in the kingdom's sustainable development of the sports movement. HH Shaikh Khalid said "our patronage of this championship emanates from the belief in the role of sports media as an effective partner in the construction and development progress seen in Bahrain's sports in the era of HM King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa the Principal Supporter of comprehensive development in all sectors in the kingdom, especially in the youth and sports sector. HH Shaikh Khalid said this is being translated in the developmental strategy founded by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). The ambitious nationwide sports strategy initiated by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa boosts this vital sector which attracted the participation of a vast number of aspirant Bahraini youth who always seek to achieve honourable results and performance in the various participations regionally, continentally and internationally, Shaikh Khalid said. HH Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts exerted by the sports media committee headed by Mohammed Qassim, in organizing the third edition of the championship. He stressed that the continuous hosting of such event, emanates from the committee's keenness on engaging local sports media persons in a real competition through this Ramadan-timed sports gathering which contributes in promoting the fraternal, amicable bonds between the participants. HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated the third edition's title winner – the football team of Bahrain News Agency (BNA) - wishing all teams good luck in upcoming championships. He also expressed his appreciation of the organizing committee's efforts in showcasing such a spectacularly successful event. For his side, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder expressed his pride in being deputed by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to honour the title winners of the third edition of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalea's Indoor Soccer Championship. Top local teams partook in the Sports Media Championship representing the various media and press bodies in the kingdom. The minister praised the sincere patriotic efforts being undertaken by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the the representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and the efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) in encouraging and supporting all championships that largely contribute in bolstering the kingdom's youth and sports movement, primarily the Nasser bin Hamad (Nasser9) Ramadan-timed sports games and the Khalid bin Hamad Tournament for Youth Centres in addition to the Sports Media Championship all of which magnify the role of the press movement in the kingdom. The minister affirmed the ministry's full cooperation with the organizing committee and the work of all ministry staff in association with the committee in the single team spirit to provide all the reasons for success at this youth gathering. The minister praised the administrative measures undertaken by the organizing committee which ensured the successful organizing of this championship in all aspects which led to accomplishing the goals set for the championship by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
