ALOR SETAR (Kedah, Malaysia), April 12 (Bernama) -- China proves its prowess in badminton when it defeated Indonesia 3-0 to wrest the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Junior Mixed Team Championships 2014 here Friday night. Indonesia gave a tough fight but was forced to admit defeat at the hands of the victorious team from China. In the mixed doubles, Indonesian pair Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari lost to Hua Kaixiang/Cheng Qingchen 14-21, 21-17, 17-21. China's position was further enhanced when Shi Yuqi defeated Jonatan Christie 21-19, 22-20 in the men's singles while in the men's doubles, Huang Kaixiang/Zheng Siwei trashed Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Clinton Hendrik Kudamasa 20-22, 21-12, 21-18. Indonesian coach Bambang Suprianto said a loss of concentration and nervousness were blamed for his team failing to clinch any points. He admited that the quality of the Chinese young players was far more superior. Meanwhile, China's junior head coach Sun Cheng Hwa acknowledged that meeting Indonesia in Friday's final was not easy for his players, especially in the mixed doubles category. "Our men's singles Shu Yiqi has shown his best although he felt the pressure. But we tried to play different tactic and he managed to adapt and win the game," he said. --BERNAMA
