Chong Wei Says Malaysia Can Repeat New Delhi Gold Medal Haul In Glasgow Commonwealth Games

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- National badminton star Lee Chong Wei is confident that Malaysia can repeat the four-gold medal feat in New Delhi when shuttlers compete in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Scotland from July 23 to Aug 3. Chong Wei said the players need to put up a competitive performance although they are not expected to face a major challenge against participating Commonwealth countries. "Four years ago in New Delhi, the national team produced the best result, so I hope we can repeat a similar feat, if not better in Scotland. I have seen an improvement in the performance of our mixed doubles and men's doubles. "They have a good chance of winning gold, including the women's singles," he said when met at Kafe Atlet, National Sports Council, here Tuesday night.
