Conference programme approved

Manama, Sept. 3 (BNA): The programme for the Mini International Physical Literacy Convention, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Bahrain Olympic Academy, was finalised today at the organizing committee meeting. Chaired by BOC sports affairs executive director AbduljalilAsad, the meeting brought up latest subjects in preparation for the two-day conference, organisedin cooperation with Podium Conferences, based in Victoria Canada. The conference, scheduled for September 9 and 10 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, will highlight six different themes, the first of which will be Sport for Life - The Journey of Excellence and Health, to be presented by Richard Way of Canada. It will be followed by a theme by Dr Dean Dudley of Australia, who will speak about the following title – four pillars of physical literacy policy. The last session of the day will see three different presentations on physical literacy in communities around the world and will be presented by Richard Way, Dr Dean Dudley and Tom Jones. On September 10, the remaining three themes will take place as Dr Dean Dudley will present the following subjects – Physical literacy as a learning construct. Richard Way will then talk about ‘Improving the quality sport and developing physical literacy’ them. The day will conclude with a panel session, featuring Tom Jones, Dr Dean Dudley and Richard Way on building quality.
