INCHEON: Distance runner Alia Mohammed Saeed of U.A.E. on Saturday secured the country's first gold medal at the current 17th Asian Games in South Korea when she won the women’s 10,000-metre final at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. Alia Saaed, who took the silver medal in last year’s Asian Athletics Championships in India, posted a personal best time of 31:51.86 and was followed by China’s Changqin Ding (31:53.09) and Japan’s Ayumi Hagiwara (31:55.67). With this win, Saeed qualifies for Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil. This is the second medal in U.A.E.'s tally at the 17th Asian Games (Incheon 2014) as Sheikh Juma bin Dalmook Al Maktoum won the bronze medal in the double trap shooting event on Thursday. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/sports/1395270182231.html
