Doha Beach Volleyball Championship Kicks off Tuesday

Doha, November 09 (QNA) - President of Qatar Volleyball Association Khalid Ali Al-Mawlawi praised the big support Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and its president HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani offered to boost sports in Qatar. Speaking at a press conference held with officials of the International Volleyball Association to announce the Doha Beach Volleyball Championship, Al-Mawlawi said that Qatar will provide a strong competitor in this year's competition. Some 48 teams participate in this year's edition, which starts tomorrow and concludes on November 13. He admitted that it will be difficult for the team to achieve a top-three finish, but maintained that they will work as hard as possible to get close to those rankings. The competition's prize money is $75,000. Four of the world's top 10 teams will take part this year. (QNA)
