DRAUGHTS GRANDMASTERS COMPETED FOR RANKING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The ‘Erchim Cup 2018’ regular tournament for ranking hosted by the Mongolian Federation of Draughts and ‘Golden boy’ club was held on May 11-13 at the Institute of Engineering and Technology. Total of 68 players participated in the tournament including all 7 grandmasters of Mongolia. The tournament was conducted in Swiss system with 9 rounds. International Grandmaster, honored athlete D.Erdenebileg topped the men’s category with 15 points while International Grandmaster M.Nyamjargal led the women’s category with 12 points. Interestingly, the birthdays of the both champions are on May 14. The Mongolian Federation of Draughts will organize 10 series of tournaments for ranking this year and 14 players with the highest scores will participate in the ‘Final 2018’ competition. B.Misheel
