Draughts players capture gold medals

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian draughts players successfully competed in the Asian Draughts Championships held from April 26 to May in Tashkent city, Uzbekistan. Comprised about 60 players, the national team of Mongolia competed in the junior, youth and senior categories. Of them, a master of the World Draughts Federation (FMJD) E.Mandakhnaran won a gold medal in the contest of top 16 women draughts, satisfying the condition of a title of Great Master. She has been followed by her opponents from China. Another Mongolian FMJD master D.Battulga also won a gold medal in the men’s contest, and he was followed by a countryman a Grand Master D.Erdenebileg. Young players have grabbed three silver and one bronze medals in the blitz contests. Moreover, two young players Ts.Otgonbileg, G.Kherlenmoron and B.Bayarmanlai won silver medals; and B.Sukhbat-a bronze medal in the junior categories. This year’s championship attracted 250 players from 14 countries. As the team results, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and China took the first three places.
