KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian girls' squash team put up a commendable performance before losing 0-2 to defending champion, Egypt in the semi-final stage of the 2015 World Junior Squash Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands on Monday. The defeat saw Malaysia emulate the semi-final feat back-to-back in 1997 and 1999 which was held in Brazil and Belgium, respectively. In Monday's encounter, recently-crowned world junior champion Nouran Gohar gave Egypt a great start by defeating Andrea Lee in just 21 minutes, winning 11-0, 11-7, 11-4. Habiba Mohamed who lost to Gohar in the individual final last Thursday, sealed the victory for Egypt by edging Malaysia's top junior player, S. Sivasangari 11-6, 11-5, 11-6. Egypt who are gunning for their seventh title will meet either England or the United States in the final on Tuesday. The semi-final between England who are the five-time champions and United States, will be held late Monday. For the record, the Egyptian side has emerged victorious in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013. -- BERNAMA
